As we move into our new space I feel utterly compelled to plant and claim the dirt as our own. Weeds be gone! What will replace them? I have found that digging in the dirt is one of my favorite hobbies. There is something so empowering about taming the land, witnessing a seedling grow stronger or a perrenial leap into action each Spring.
O requests "no mulch or rocks" (ummmmmmmK), and I am no fan of green thirsty lawns. What does that leave? It turns out that massive plantings of xeric ground cover is the best answer ~ oh for joy! Calling all Hens and Chicks! Propagation is a new hobby. I have been transplanting, testing soil, amending for days, and digging holes this season!
If you need me, I'll be in the yard and if you see me out and about, I probably need a manicure!!
